Welcome to Cornerstone Trust, a beacon of hope in the heart of Mumbai, India, committed to transforming the lives of those trapped in the shadows of Turbhe's red-light district. In this bustling suburb, where over 10,000 women and children endure the harsh realities of modern slavery, we stand as advocates for restoration, healing, and a brighter future.
Cornerstone Trust is dynamically involved in various social and educational projects, charitable activities, community development programs, rehabilitation projects and relief works. Cornerstone Child Development Centre is one such activity carried out by the trust.
The Cornerstone Trust is deeply involved in spreading the light of God’s love through its quest for human rights, for caste reconciliation, for gender justice and for social justice-envisioning a new generation in a ew world.
At Cornerstone, we understand the profound challenges faced by women who have been tricked, sold into prostitution, or tra!cked. These survivors, living in the brothels of Turbhe and Navi Mumbai, have experienced deep betrayal and treachery from those meant to protect and nurture them. We fight to restore hope, peace, and love in lives devastated by the cruelties of others.
In Turbhe, 90% of women are burdened by debt, perpetuating a cycle of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Lack of education and skills confines them to the trade, leading to a range of health issues and societal challenges. Unwanted pregnancies, children lacking education and proper nutrition, and a breakdown of value systems create a generational trend of tra!cking and exploitation.
Cornerstone's strength lies in relationship building for emotional healing. Our experienced sta", equipped with counseling and vocational training skills, actively engages with survivors. We provide a lifeline of friendship and support, addressing past traumas and present challenges such as debt, addictions, and abusive relationships.
Our programs focus on:
Poverty and illiteracy are the root causes of tra!cking. We aim to break this cycle through education, vocational training, and emotional healing.
Our vision includes:
